YOU RAISED 138,000 IN FOOD DONATIONS & DOLLARS FOR MN FOODSHARE MONTH!
With your help, CAER raised 138,000 in food and dollars during March to make sure our shelves are full for the coming months. March is the only time during the year that Minnesota FoodShare will match a portion of the dollars and food that we raise together. There were a lot of fun events during March to focus our attention on the need to support local food shelves like CAER. Here's a quick recap of some of the events that happened in our communities:
Drive 4 UR

McCoy's 6th Annual 5K Walk/Run for CAER
MARCH 11, 2017
There were 427 registered walkers/runners participating in this year's McCoy's 6th Annual Walk/Run for CAER! More runners, more walkers and way more fun! It was a freezing cold day, but that did not stop participants from dressing up in their best Irish, gathering the family and heading to historic downtown Elk River for a terrific day. Together you raised more than $10,000 for CAER Food Shelf! Thank you one and all for a great time, a great day and for supporting CAER!
Thanks to Cornerstone Auto Group and Ford Motor Company, each test drive taken raises $20 for CAER. There were 70 test drives raising $1,400 for CAER on March 11th! We can't say thank you enough to Cornerstone and to all the folks who checked out a new Ford just so CAER could earn a little extra cash! And because it's part of MN FoodShare March Campaign, a portion of the money earned will receive matching funds!!
ISD 728 Schools Participate in Community "Food Fight"
It was a month long food fight to end hunger in our communities! Our first contestants were the schools in ISD 728! They had lots of competition, but Meadowvale School took home the prize for most dollars/food raised by a school - nearly $2,144 in cash and 2,078 lbs. of food! The Community Food Fight generated lots of excitement and enthusiasm with businesses, organizations and individuals joining in the fun. Thank you so much for your generosity and support!
Fill Your Tummy with an Empty Bowl!
Thanks to the Otsego Parks & Rec Department and the Otsego Holiday Inn, this year's attendees enjoyed soup and bread and took home a beautiful, hand crafted bowl. CAER took home $700 and the memory of a warm evening with friends! What a unique and special way to celebrate Minnesota FoodShare month!
