Golf Tournament a Great Success!
CAER extends a very heartfelt THANK YOU, to all
the sponsors, participants, and wonderful volunteers who helped make
the inaugural CAER Classic Golf Tournament such a great day!
Approximately $13,000 was raised to support CAER’s mission to strive
to ensure that no one in our community goes to bed hungry or without
basic needs. Thank you all, and we look forward to seeing you all
again in 2009!!

Thank you Cretex!
Thanks to CRETEX for their donations and
installation of furniture and equipment for our facility. We have
increased seating and storage area and improved the look inside CAER.
We additionally received desks, file cabinets and a copier,
increasing our functionality and making for much improved office
space! Thank you for everything!!

Carmen Pouliot hired as Assistant to
the Director – February 2008 CAER is
excited to have Carmen on staff as the new Assistant to the
Director. Carmen, a lifelong resident of Elk River, has extensive
knowledge of the community and CAER. She also possesses a wide array
of office and customer service skills. Welcome Carmen!!

Jennifer Gray appointed as new CAER
Director (12-13-07) Jennifer Gray
has been hired to fill the position of Executive Director following
Margaret Longie’s retirement. Jenny has worked at CAER as
Margaret’s assistant for the past 2.5 years. Her background
includes working and/or volunteering in the community in the
non-profit sector for the past 12 years. Jenny is excited to
follow in Margaret’s footsteps providing food and assistance to
those in need in our community.

Margaret Longie Announces Retirement!
(11-12-07) After 27 years as CAER’s
only Executive Director, Margaret Longie is retiring. Margaret
announced her retirement at CAER’s October Board of Directors
meeting, with her last day being November 16th, 2007. Margaret
will be greatly missed by staff, volunteers, and clients.
Thank You Margaret for your many dedicated years with CAER!!

There are typically many types of drives going on in our area at any
time. Some of these may be local, state-wide or even national. You
should always check with any drive as to where your donations are
going. CAER is a 501 (c) 3, non-profit organization.
