CAER is a non-profit, community-based Christian organization, whose mission is to provide emergency food, clothing, furniture/household items, special assistance, and limited financial assistance to individuals and families in need.
CAER was founded in 1979 as a vision of the local ministerial association. Churches, schools, youth groups, civic organizations and businesses have joined hands in a wonderful community effort to help those in need.
CAER personnel and service coordinators are available to reach out and lend a hand, to help with problems until a permanent solution is found, to provide emotional reassurance during stressful times and to provide tangible help without all the 'red tape'.

CAER Classic Golf Tournament- 6/24/2009 The 2nd Annual CAER Classic Golf Tournament sponsored by the Bank of Elk River has been scheduled for June 24th, 2009. The Riverwood National golf course opens for registration at 10 AM with the shotgun start at 12 noon. For more information or to register, please click on the above link.
ER Community Garage Sale - 6/27 & 6/28 The 2009 Community Garage Sale will be held Saturday 6/27 from 8AM - 4PM and Sunday 6/28 from 1PM - 4PM at the Cornerstone Car Wash/Detail Center (Elk River Ford Dodge Jeep @ 17219 Hwy 10, Elk River). Part of the proceeds from the sale will be distributed to CAER. In addition, if you bring a bag of groceries for CAER to the event, you can get a FREE car wash. Community Aid Elk River (CAER) food shelf will be holding a unique fundraiser on Sunday, July 19th @ 2 PM at the Sherburne County Fairgrounds. It’s called a Cow-A-Bunga Bingo Raffle and it is sure to put a smile on your face! The basic idea is that a large numbered grid will be painted on a field and several cows will be led onto the field to let the chips fall where they may! Grid squares will be sold for $5 each and the $1000 grand prize winner will be determined by where the first cow chip lands. For more details, click HERE.

We accept all non-perishable food items in unopened containers. At this time, we URGENTLY* need the following items: Laundry Soap Shampoo Sugar Instant Rice Tampons Cream Soups Saltine Crackers
*Urgent means that the food shelf is very low or out of stock on these items. We are unable to purchase the items so without donations, families will not receive them.
